POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

This is amazing, he died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007. What a legacy to leave behind…
In a letter to his wife Jai and his children, Dylan, Logan , and Chloe, he wrote this beautiful "guide to a better life" for his wife and children to follow. May you be blessed by his insight.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Personality:
1. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

2. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment

3. Don't overdo; keep your limits

4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does

5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip

6. Dream more while you are awake

7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..

8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/ her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present

11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you

12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

13. Smile and laugh more

14. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Community:
15. Call your family often

16. Each day give something good to others

17. Forgive everyone for everything

18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6

19. Try to make at least three people smile each day

20. What other people think of you is none of your business

21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

骨質疏鬆症的發生 ,其實是鈣質與蛋白質的一場鬥爭!

她已經七十多歲了 ,平常非常注重身體的保養 ,每天清晨除了運動二小時外 ,飲食方面更力求均衡 ,尤其牛奶必定「不少於三大杯」 ,以攝取豐富的鈣質 ,她心想 ,這樣縝密的飲食習慣 ,骨質疏鬆症絕對與我無緣。可是 ,她到馬來西亞旅遊 ,第二天一個不小心踩空 ,左小腿斷得碎碎的 ,返國住了二個月的院 ,醫生證實:骨質非常脆弱 ,有「嚴重」的骨質疏鬆症。像這樣的例子 ,社會上比比皆是。

大家的觀念總以為每天只要多喝牛奶 ,吃小魚乾、燉排骨湯等含豐富鈣質食物 ,就不會發生骨質疏鬆症 ,其實是一知半解。

乳品委員會給國人的建議量是每日攝取含鈣量1 ,000毫克最適合 ,但奇怪的是 ,住在非洲仍過著幾近原始生活的班圖婦女 ,每日雖只攝取350 毫克鈣質 ,竟不曾有骨質疏鬆症發生。反觀世界上每日攝取含鈣量最高的愛斯基摩土著 ,每天都吃魚 ,含鈣量達2 ,000毫克 ,是正常值的二倍 ,卻是世界上骨質疏鬆症最嚴重的地方。而美國、英國乳品消耗量最多的國家 ,骨質疏鬆症也最普遍 ,道理到底在那裡?原來骨質疏鬆症的發生不在於你攝取的鈣夠不夠 ,鈣質量的多少並不會影響你得骨質疏鬆症 ,關鍵在你能不能「保持」鈣質不被流失。

那麼鈣質為什麼會流失呢?
因為國人 嗜吃「肉、奶、蛋」等蛋白質含量豐富的食物 ,身體內蛋白質太多會造成「酸性」體質 ,人體一旦酸質化 ,身體為了維持平衡 ,自然而然地會自「骨骼」中提取鈣質來中和酸性 ,成為微鹼狀態;試想 ,一個人經年累月被抽鈣質來中和 ,骨骼中的鈣質每天流失 ,怎麼會不造成骨質疏鬆症呢?

因此元凶是「蛋白質過量」流失了鈣質 ,而非鈣質吃得不夠。那麼檢驗一下 ,我們每日飲食蛋白質真的過量嗎?

根據國科會的建議 ,人體正常的蛋白質量 ,以體重60公斤 的女人為例 ,每天只需45公克就夠了(男人約需50公克) ,以純素食的人而言 ,輕易就可得到57公克 ,何況肉食主義者 ,隨便一塊肉、一個蛋就過量了。牛奶的含鈣量固然很高 ,可是蛋白質更高 ,所以牛奶喝越多的人鈣質流失更多 ,加上「肉、蛋」是高蛋白質食物 ,骨質疏鬆症不發生才怪 ,所以不要怪鈣質攝取夠不夠 ,正常飲食鈣質一定夠 鈣質多或少不會造成骨質疏鬆症 ,蛋白質過量才是元凶。願大家有正確的認識 ,如此 ,骨質疏鬆症才不會找上您!

美女健康手冊:

常吃宵夜會得胃癌 ,因為胃得不到休息。

一個星期只能吃四顆蛋 ,吃太多 ,對身體不好。

雞屁股含有致癌物 ,不要吃比較好。

12. 遠離充電座。人體應遠離30公分 以上 ,切忌放在床邊。

每天十杯水 ,膀胱癌不會來。

白天多喝水 ,晚上少喝水。
15.
一天不要喝兩杯以上的咖啡 ,喝太多易導致失眠、胃痛。
16.
多油脂的食物少吃! 因為得花5~7小時去消化 ,並使腦中血液集中到腸胃 ,易昏昏欲睡。
17.
下午五點後 ,大餐少吃。因為五點後身體不需那麼多能量。
18. 十種吃了會快樂的食物:深海魚、香蕉、葡萄柚、全麥麵包、菠菜、大蒜、南瓜、低脂牛奶、雞肉、櫻桃。
19. 睡眠不足會變笨。一天須八小時睡眠 ,有午睡習慣較不會老。
